Join the Miami Marlins and the National Blood Clot Alliance as they team up to help Stop the Clot® and promote Blood Clot Awareness on Sunday, July 28 when the Marlins host the Pirates. The National Blood Clot Alliance is a patient advocacy group to promote awareness of risk, prevention and treatment of blood clots.
Order your Blood Clot Awareness tickets and participate in a pregame symbolic "Walk Around the Field" to promote Blood Clot Awareness. This symbolic walk consists of a lap around the playing field at Marlins Park. Details regarding the walk will be emailed the week of the game to each ticket buyer.
Also, a portion of the ticket proceeds will benefit The National Blood Clot Alliance. Once at the game, make sure to stop by the 50/50 raffle kiosks for a chance to win $$$ while supporting the NBCA.
The National Blood Clot Alliance (NBCA) is a non-profit, voluntary health organization dedicated to advancing the prevention, early diagnosis and successful treatment of life-threatening blood clots such as deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and clot-provoked stroke.
About Blood Clots and DVTs A deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot typically in one leg that can break loose and travel to the lungs as a pulmonary embolism (PE), a medical emergency that can result in death in about 1 of every 3 people with PE. It is important to know your risk for DVT and PE. Some risk factors include a hospital or nursing home stay, major surgery, trauma, hip or knee replacement, obesity, older age, immobility, or family history of clots or clotting disorders. Visit www.stoptheclot.org to learn more about the signs, symptoms, prevention and treatment of blood clots.
