This Day in Baseball History:
February 24, 1874 > Future Hall of Fame shortstop Honus Wagner is born in Chartiers, Pennsylvania. Wagner will make his Major League debut in 1897 with the Louisville Cardinals, then go on to star with the Pittsburgh Pirates after the Lousiville club is disbanded. In his magnificent 21-year career, Wagner will bat .300 16 times and lead the Pirates to two World Series appearances.
