This Day in Baseball History:
July 2, 1933 > New York Giants southpaw Carl Hubbell pitches all 18 innings of a 1-0 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals. The future Hall of Famer strikes out 12 and allows only six hits in his masterpiece. Opposing starter Tex Carleton nearly matches Hubbell's effort, but he departs with a no-decision after 16 innings.
