Fast start for sterling Marlins

Florida did not need any extra-base hits Saturday night in its win over the Yankees. Juan Pierre went 2-for-3 with a two-run single and scored the Marlins' first run. Brad Penny gave up two runs in 5 1/3 innings, while Dontrelle Willis and Ugueth Urbina shut out New York over the final 3 2/3 innings.  Full story >

Bernie Williams tied Mickey Mantle and Reggie Jackson with 18 career postseason home runs, but his solo shot in the sixth was not enough to boost New York to victory in Game 1 at Yankee Stadium.
