    Sports Illustrated has named Astros second baseman Jose Altuve and Texans defensive end J.J. Watt the 2017 SI Sportspersons of the Year. The announcement was made tonight on The Tonight Show on NBC.

  • Luhnow to be Wednesday's Astroline Guest

    HOUSTON, TX - Houston Astros General Manager Jeff Luhnow will be the guest on Astroline this Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. CT. Astros Community Outreach Executive and former TV play-by-play broadcaster Bill Brown will serve as host. Brown will host the next two shows, while current Astros TV and radio broadcasters will alternate hosting duties for the remainder of the offseason.

  • Astros announce 2018 contract tenders

    The Houston Astros have tendered 2018 Major League contracts to all but one of their unsigned 40-man roster players, as right-handed pitcher Mike Fiers was not tendered a contract.

  • Astros Select Pitchers Cionel Perez and Dean Deetz to 40-Man Roster

    HOUSTON, TX - The Houston Astros have selected left-handed pitcher Cionel Perez and right-handed pitcher Dean Deetz to their 40-man roster today. Additionally, outfielder Ramon Laureano was traded to Oakland in exchange for right-handed pitcher Brandon Bailey. The announcement was made by Astros General Manager Jeff Luhnow.

  • Altuve Named American League Most Valuable Player

    HOUSTON, TX - Tonight on MLB Network, the Baseball Writers Association of America (BBWAA) named Astros second baseman Jose Altuve the 2017 American League Most Valuable Player. Altuve edged out the Yankees Aaron Judge and the Indians Jose Ramirez in the voting. Glove Award, three batting titles and two stolen base titles.

  • Tickets for the 2018 Shriners Hospitals College Classic Now Available

    HOUSTON, TX - Tickets for the 18th annual Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic, which will be held from March 2-4, 2018, are now on sale at Astros.com. The three-day, six-team, nine-game tournament, which is held at Minute Maid Park every spring, will feature three programs from local universities, including the University of Houston, Sam Houston State and Louisiana-Lafayette, and three from the SEC, in Mississippi State, Vanderbilt and Kentucky. All nine games over the weekend will pit a local university against an SEC opponent.
