Miami Marlins announce 2013 home schedule
The Miami Marlins today announced their home schedule for the 2013 regular season, their second season in Marlins Park. The Marlins, who will open 2013 on the road, will play their Home Opener on Monday, April 8 at 7:10 pm vs. the Atlanta Braves.
The Marlins opening homestand will run April 8-17, with the team hosting NL East foes Atlanta (April 8-10), Philadelphia (April 12-14) and Washington (April 15-17). The 2013 season will mark the first time that the National League and American League will have 15 teams apiece. As a result, Interleague Play will be played throughout the entire regular season, including the Marlins hosting a season-ending series vs. the Detroit Tigers September 27-29. The Marlins other home Interleague opponents in 2013 are the Tampa Bay Rays (May 29-30), Minnesota Twins (June 25-26) and Cleveland Indians (August 2-4).
Additionally, Marlins Park will host the second round of the 2013 World Baseball Classic in the second week of March. Marlins Season Ticket Holders will have priority to purchase WBC tickets prior to the general public. More information can be found at marlins.com/wbc.
