Miami, FL-The Marlins Foundation and FOX Sports Florida hosted the 8th Annual Fantasy Auction presented by the Clevelander. The event aired live on FOX Sports Florida hosted by Rich Waltz, Tommy Hutton, Craig Minervini and FOX Sports Florida Girls, Jordana and Annilie. In a joint effort the live auction raised $100,000. The proceeds will benefit the Marlins Education Fund, which directly impacts several education-focused non-profits in our community.
"We are very proud of this year's Fantasy Auction. Fans had the opportunity to bid on exclusive packages while supporting the Marlins Education Fund," said PJ Loyello, Marlins Senior Vice President of Communications and Broadcasting. "This great event would not have been possible without our partnership with Fox Sports Florida and together we were able to raise much needed funds for the youth of South Florida."
For the eighth consecutive year, FOX Sports Florida, the exclusive statewide television home of the Marlins, hosted the special on-air auction giving viewers at home, and at the ballpark, the opportunity to bid on twenty once-in-a-lifetime packages beginning with FOX Sports Florida's Marlins LIVE pre-game show. Packages auctioned included, a Road Trip with the Marlins, Royal Field of Dreams Experience at Marlins Park, FOX Sports Florida Broadcaster Experience, Spring Training Player for the game experience, Change Bases Experience, Pitching Experience and a Fantasy Draft Party, just to name a few.
"Thanks to our fans for helping FOX Sports Florida raise $100,000 for the Marlins Education Fund," said Rich Waltz, FOX Sports Florida. "Every cent of the money that we've raised goes right to work in our community to help South Florida youth."
