Marlins open 2014 campaign with seven-game homestand against the Colorado Rockies and San Diego Padres

MIAMI -The Miami Marlins begin their 22nd season with a seven-game homestand against the Colorado Rockies (March 31-April 3) and San Diego Padres (April 4-6). The homestand features three fan giveaways as all fans will receive a 2014 magnetic schedule courtesy of Miccosukee Resort and Gaming and a Jose's Heroes 'K' card on Opening Night, and the first 15,000 fans on April 6 will receive a 2014 Marlins calendar courtesy of Net10 Wireless.

Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Opening Night to his former Miami Dolphins teammate Jimmy Cefalo, who caught the pass from Marino in 1984 which at the time broke the record for most touchdown passes in a season. Other pregame festivities for the season opener include KC, from KC and the Sunshine Band, singing the national anthem and a special celebrity Opening Night video. The Club will honor Henderson Alvarez's no-hitter from Closing Day 2013 with an in-game presentation. Gates will open two hours prior to the scheduled first pitch. Following the game, fans will be treated to a fireworks show presented by Pepsi. Fans can also listen in all day as Clear Channel Communications (940 WINZ, 610 WIOD and Big 105.9) will be broadcasting live from the ballpark beginning at 6 a.m. all the way up to first pitch.
