Marlins' challenge leads to overturn at first

NEW YORK -- By a toe, the Marlins won a replay challenge in the fourth inning against the Mets at Citi Field on Sunday.
Leading off the fourth, Juan Lagares bounced to short. Adeiny Hechavarria fielded it cleanly, but his throw pulled Garrett Jones away from first base. Jones' right foot dragged across and then off the base as he collected the wide throw.
When Jones' foot reached back toward the base, first-base umpire Ted Barrett called Lagares safe.
Marlins manager Mike Redmond challenged, and after a one-minute review, the call was overturned. The replay was clear that Jones had the ball in his glove as his foot dragged across the base.
Miami is now 14-for-18 in replay challenges.
