For the fifth consecutive season, every home run hit by Rays All-Star third baseman Evan Longoria will benefit the Pet Pal Animal Shelter, a no-kill, nonprofit shelter in St. Petersburg. For every home run he hits during the 2016 season, Longoria will join the Rays, Bright House Networks, Ducky's Sports Lounge, Kids Artistic Revue and Rainbow National Dance Competition to each donate $100 to the shelter.
The Tampa Bay Rays have announced three postgame concerts at Tropicana Field for 2016: The Fray, Bret Michaels and Hunter Hayes. Each concert is free with the purchase of that date's game ticket and will begin immediately following the conclusion of the game.
The Tampa Bay will host the Chicago White Sox, April 15-17, in the first weekend home series of the season, part of a six-game homestand that also includes a three-game set with the Cleveland Indians, April 12-14.
