Mike Pagliarulo begins first career Major League coaching assignment, coming to Miami as hitting coach...Previously served as hitting coach for Triple-A Indianapolis from 2013-14.

PLAYING CAREER

Spent parts of 11 Major League seasons with Yankees (1984-89), San Diego (1989-90), Minnesota (1991-93), Baltimore (1993) and Texas (1995), winning World Series with Twins in 1991...Between stints in Baltimore and Texas, played one season with Seibu Lions in Japanese Pacific League, batting .263 with seven home runs and 47 RBI in 80 games...In 1991 American League Championship Series against Toronto, connected for pinch-hit 10th-inning home run in Game 3 to help twins reach World Series...Led Yankees with 32 home runs in 1987...Made Major League debut with Yankees on July 7, 1984, a doubleheader at Minnesota. In second game, hit first MLB home run (off Bret Saberhagen).

Michael Timothy Pagliarulo   (Pal-lee-ah-roo-low)...married to wife, Karen, and has two grown children; daughter Erica and son Michael...played three seasons at University of Miami and was inducted into school's Sports Hall of Fame in 1999... founded several international sports consultant groups; Sports Embassy Inc., the Baseline Group and 'iScouts, Inc...also created the Baseball Institute of Development, a non-profit organization focused on injury prevention in youth sports.
