Pat Shine is beginning his third season as the Miami's administrative coach and video replay coordinator...Prior to joining the staff, spent six seasons (2008-13) in second stint as associate head coach at University of California-Irvine. He acted as hitting coach and third base coach, as well as having responsibility of being the recruiting coordinator. In his six seasons with Anteaters, enjoyed four regional appearances and two super regional appearances...In 2007, was head coach at Cal State-Los Angeles, going 45-17-1 to earn trip to NCAA Division II College World Series and American Baseball Coaches Association West Region Coach of the Year honors...From 2005-06, was head assistant coach at UCLA, as well as hitting coach, third base coach and recruiting coordinator. In each of his three seasons, Bruins had top-10 recruiting classes. Also helped Bruins to NCAA regional berth in 2006...In first stint with Anteaters (2002-04), was assistant head coach under John Savage...In 2000, served as assistant coach at New Mexico, where Lobos claimed Mountain West Conference title...Was volunteer coach at UC-Berkeley from 1998-99, working with Bears outfielders and serving as hitting/baserunning coach...Has also spent time coaching in various summer collegiate leagues. In 2000, was interim manager/pitching coach of Brewster Whitecaps, leading club to Cape Cod League title. In 1998-99, was manager and pitching coach with St. Cloud Riverbats in Northwoods League. Captured 1998 league title and '99 Manager of the Year honors.


Patrick Shine...played baseball collegiately at Whitworth College in Spokane, Wash., before transferring to Gonzaga, where he was named a team captain and led the Bulldogs to a third-place conference finish in 1995...graduated from Gonzaga Prep High School in 1990 and was two-sport athlete (football and baseball)...was starting quarterback in senior season, leading Bullpups to a No. 9 national ranking by USA Today.
